Various explorations using code

Mindfulness

I decided to code visuals to better explain two types of mindfulness skills taken from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. The first one is a breathing meditation.

  1. Use the following video to guide your breathing
  2. Inhale as the spinning square gets bigger, exhale as it gets smaller. Try to match the rhythm
  3. If you find yourself getting lost in your thoughts, take note of them, and bring your mind back to your breathing

The second is called a Zen Tangle. It is a type of mindfulness that involves drawing.

  1. Use the following template and create a different pattern in each triangular section (select the crayon first on the left side)
  2. Remember, this is NOT about being perfect. Do not overthink it. If you find yourself judging what you're doing, simply notice those judgements, take note of them, and continue

Colour Picker

Using Arduino and Processing, this colour picker was created for creatives to use when they work with lighting for various projects. We wanted to make it easy to match the colour on the screen to the physical LED colours on the light connected.

NATO Phonetic Alphabet Robot

Have you ever tried spelling out your name over the phone only to hesitate on words? I created this NATO Phonetic Alphabet Robot to help me memorize the words corresponding to each letter, and to make phone dictation as easy as possible (especially with long names).
